A choice can be made of the following transactions:
1. Buy
A transaction to enter buys of stock.
The daybook amount must be entered negatively.
2. Sale
A transaction to enter sales of stock. The result on sales is displayed in the upper part of the screen (result on stock and currencies, realized and unrealized).
If sales are calculated according to the FIFO-method and stock is revaluated, an unrealized result is calculated as well.
There will be an error when the sales quantity is more then the quantity of stock.
3. Opening balance
A transaction to enter an existing portfolio.
4. Stock dividend
A transaction to enter paid dividend in shares.
Dividend on shares can paid cash but also in shares.
Only the number of shares and the currency rate compared to the bookkeeping currency can be entered. The cost price of these received shares zero.
5. Interest
On entering a buy or a sale of bonds, interest will be calculated automatically on the basis of the settings of bonds
This interest calculation can, after being created, be adjusted or even deleted. Interest calculations can also be entered manually.
6. Short sale
A short sale results in a negative quantity of stock.
A short sale is always made before a short cover.
7. Short cover
A short cover is made to cover the short sale.
After making a short cover the number of stock can never be positive.
8. Other bank journals
To keep the bank balance close it is possible to enter bank journals which have no relation to stock at all. Also the opening balance of a bank account can be entered. Only the amount of the daybook and the currency rate compared to the bookkeeping currency can be entered.
9. Revaluations
Transactions of this type will be created by using the revaluation function. These transactions cannot be created manually. Revaluations will be calculated in accordance of the FIFO method. The result is specified at the bottom of the screen (stock result, currency result, realized and unrealized).
