Portfolio

The portfolio-screen can be started via in menu Bookkeeping > Portfolio or by pressing the Portfolio button in the tool bar.

 

In the Portfolio module , bank transactions concerning stock can be administrated, like buys and sales, interest to pay on bonds and stock dividend. Also, stock can be revaluated against different prices of stock.

The Portfolio stock administration is a sub administration of the bookkeeping module. However it is possible to use the Portfolio module separate from the bookkeeping module.

 

Cost accounting in Mill7 is based on FIFO (first in first out) or average cost price.

This option can be set per bookkeeping in the Settings > Portfolio.

 

FIFO

Calculations of profits are based on buys in historical order.

The cost basis is the cost price of the historical buy(s).

During revaluation the historical cost price and actual price will determine the amount of revaluation.

 

Average Cost price

Every purchase the average cost price will be calculated,

During revaluation the average cost price and actual price will determine the amount of revaluation.

 

Stock

To enter Portfolio in Mill7, stock must be created through menu Maintenance > Portfolio > Stock.

 

Transaction

In menu Bookkeeping, submenu Portfolio, the transaction screen can be started.

 

Revaluate

The function Revaluate can be started in menu Bookkeeping, submenu Portfolio. To revaluate, prices of stock will have to be entered for the concerning date.

If stock with a different value than the bookkeeping value exist, currency rates for the concerning date will have to be entered as well.

 

Reconciliate transactions

Transactions in the Portfolio subadministration can be processed in the administration as journal entries.

In menu Bookkeeping, submenu Portfolio, the function Reconciliate can be started.

 

Import Portfolio

In menu Bookkeeping, Import, data concerning the Portfolio module can be imported, like:

- Transactions

- Currency rates

- Prices of stock
