Archiving

Bookkeepings can be archived in Mill7.

This is a manual action. All bookkeepings are located in the Mill7\comp folder.

By changing the location to the Mill7\Comp_arch folder, the bookkeeping is archived.

The path to the archived bookkeepings can be made directed to another location by creating a file called datapad_arch.ini in the Mill7 folder.

The path entered in the file should be a folder that is containing a sub folder called Comp_arch.

For example: When the path F:\Archive is entered, the bookkeeping folders to be archived should be placed in the folder F:\Archive\Comp_arch.

If you are working with a multi-user set-up of Mill7, make sure that nobody is currently working in the bookkeeping to be archived.

Start Mill7 after moving the bookkeeping and click the Refresh button in the administration list.

The bookkeeping will then be removed from the administration list.

The data of the bookkeeping can now only be accessed by the Mill7 reporting program.

Reversing the archiving

Whenever you wish to reactivate an archived bookkeeping, simply move the bookkeeping folder back to the Mill7\Comp folder.

Start Mill7 and click the Refresh button in the bookkeeping list. The bookkeeping will then be added to the administration list.

Update database:

File structures are sometimes modified by updates. Archived bookkeepings however will not be updated.

After returning an outdated archived bookkeeping back to the Mill7 Comp folder, Mill7 will recognize the bookkeeping as such and will initiate the process for updating the bookkeepings database.
