If records cannot be retrieved, please check the index files. With the re-indexing function, the index files are built up again.
Before re-indexing contact the Millogic helpdesk.
Block and release users and other Mill7 programs
The re-index functionality has two options, test indexes en rebuild indexes. Only during the rebuild option users should be logged off.
Also the Mill7 Mobile service and the report scheduler need to be stopped. This must be done manually.
Afterwards users can be released, but Mill7 Mobile and the report scheduler must be restarted manually.
Re-index
The re-index function can be started from menu Supervisor > Re-index.
When invoking the re-index function Mill7 will automatically be closed for the user who is executing the function.
While the index files are being tested, the user can log on to Mill7. During the re-indexing or the repairing of index files, it is recommended to keep Mill7 closed.
If Mill7 cannot be started, re-indexing can be performed from outside the Mill7 by executing Maatwerk.exe in the Mill7\Prog20 folder.
The standard procedure of re-indexing is as follows:
1.Select the bookkeeping(s) that should be re-indexed in the column Reindex. Only bookkeepings in the same bookyear can be re-indexed simultaneously.
2.First execute the Test index files button to test if the database needs to be re-indexed.
3.Errors are reported in a pop-up screen. The report will indicate if re-indexing is necessary. In case of doubt, please contact the Millogic helpdesk.
4.If errors occur in the database, it needs to be re-indexed. To be able to execute the re-index procedure, all users will have to be logged off. Press the button Block login users to do so.
5.To start re-indexing press the Reindex button.
6.After finishing re-indexing press the Test index files button once more to check if all errors are solved.
7.Release the users by pressing Release users.
When the above procedure does not resolve all index errors try using the Repair button.
1.In the popup window select the bookkeeping that should be repaired.
2.Confirm the selection of the bookkeeping by clicking the Repair button in the popup window.
3.Confirm the execution of the repairing process.
4.All index files of the bookkeeping will be deleted and rebuild from scratch.
5.After rebuilding the index files they will be tested automatically.
If errors persist please contact the Millogic helpdesk.
Include shared files in data folder
The option to include the data folder can be switched off at will.
The data folder is contains general files shared by all bookkeepings.
This folder will only be tested or re-indexed once in a single run, even when multiple bookkeepings are selected.
Once it has been tested or re-indexed there is no point of including it again in a subsequent run.
By switching the option off subsequent testing of re-indexing runs will be directed exclusively to the selected bookkeepings.
This will save some time because files in the data folder can grow to a considerable size.
It is advised to include the data folder at least one time.
Batch
Re-indexing can be scheduled as well.
Errors during the re-index procedure are logged in the logging of Mill7.
Example:
C:
cd\
cd Mill7\Prog20
maatwerk.exe /Index_batch 222 2005 1
maatwerk.exe /Index_batch 223 2005 0
After parameter /index_batch enter the parameters for: bookkeeping number, bookkeeping year and re-index data directory (0=No, 1=Yes).
Make sure that the Mill7 directory is the current directory. Otherwise an error "Error in shortcut" will appear.
With the Create batch file button, a batch file will be created to re-index all the selected bookkeepings.
The file will be opened in Notepad en must be saved with the extension .bat.
The file will be executed after double clicking the left mouse button. Also the file can be scheduled as a Windows task.
