Installation of Mill7

When purchasing Mill7 you will receive instructions for installing the software and activating your license.

By default, Mill7 is installed in C:\Mill7, but Mill7 can be installed on a network drive as well.

Do not install Mill7 in the Program Files folder of Windows.

Mill7 Pro and Mill7 Trust are multi-user environments, Mill7 Basis is single-user.

For network installations and multi-user settings, please check the help topic Paths and Network Installation.

Please pay attention to the following:

The Mill7 folder may not be placed in a Windows system folder.

Do not use the option hidden folders or files in a Mill7 directory.

All Mill7 users need full access rights to all Mill7 directories to be able to read and write in the database.

Use the file Mill7.exe in the Mill7\Prog20 folder to start Mill7 or to create a short-cut.

Install Mill7 in a sub folder and not directly in the root of a (virtual) drive.

Once a year in January you will receive an invoice for the use of Mill7.

Three to four working days after we receive your payment you will be able to renew your license from the Supervisor menu > Extend License > Online registration > Refresh license information.

Local files

When Mill7 is starting, language translation files and Compiled HTML help files are copied to the users directory for temporary files (the temp folder).
These files need to be installed locally in order to open correctly.

Compiled HTML help (chm) files are present for cases that the default web-based help is not desirable or not functioning for technical reasons.

Opening the Compiled HTML help on a network drive could require additional registry settings in Windows: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896358/en-us

The Mill7 help information is presented in the users default web browser.

With the setting 'Use old help system' the Compiled HTML help will be used instead of in the web-based help.

The Compiled HTML help may be outdated in contrast to the web-based help.
