Import time registrations

This import function is only available in the Trust version of Mill7 and can be started only in the main bookkeeping or in a service company. Time cannot be imported in previous bookyears.

The following fields can be allocated.

1. Date *

2. User *

3. Debtor *

4. Activity *

5. Invoice status

6. Case

7. Time

8. Time rate

9. Time description **

10. Extra description

*Required
**Required when set

All codes must be present in the Mill7 database.

For accepting a line from the import file the same rules apply as when time is written manually. These rules rely on settings for users, debtors, activities, rates, rights, etc. Checks for exceeding case limits (time or amount) have been left out, however.

The user that performs the import has to be granted the right to import time registration. When the user imports time for other users as well then the user must be able to write time for these users.

1. Date

The date has to be filled in and must be valid. It is not required that the date is within the bookyear.

2. User

The user must be licensed for time writing and may not be resigned on the date that is mentioned in the import line.

3. Debtor

Blocked debtors for time writing are not allowed.

4. Activity

Blocked activities are not allowed.

5. Invoice status

Status can be "N", "J", "L" or "F". When this field is presented empty, Mill7 will determine the value by applying the settings for the debtor, the activity and the case.

When the field is filled the user that imports the file must be granted the right to change the value of the invoice status. When "F" is used the time will be considered as being invoiced, which means that the line cannot be edited afterwards in Mill7.

6. Case

Blocked cases are not allowed.

The maximum for the case, if set, can be exceeded when importing time.

7. Time

8. Time rate

When not presented in the import file the rate amount will be determined automatically in Mill7 by applying the settings for the user, the debtor and the case. When the field is filled, a value or 0 (nil) is possible too, the user that imports the file has to be granted the right to do that.

9. Time description

The Time description is required when the setting Maintenance> Settings> Time> Time description mandatory is activated.

10. Extra description

The Extra description will always be imported when presented in the import file, even when the setting for Extra column Description in list in Maintenance> Settings> Time is not activated.
